Amazing, isn’t it? The U.S. Government underwrote Dr. Ehret’s research on stopping jet lag and no one has told President and Mrs. Obama. Believe me, on this, the third day in England, they are feeling lousy with jet lag. Lousy.
Well, no one told President Bush either about the cure for jet lag, that’s for sure. (Left hand/right hand problems. What’s new in Washington?) Next week I’m sending the President and Mrs. Obama a copy of The Cure for Jet Lag via Mrs. Obama’s Director of Scheduling and Advance for the First Lady, Franny Starkey Sanguin. (End run!) I’ll let you know how it goes.
A few weeks ago I sent a copy to President Clinton for him to give to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She really needs the book, too. I preceded my mailing with a phone call to The William J. Clinton Foundation in the Bronx and got some snot-nosed intern-type who was very polite, yet very dismissive of me. That part about my being an author of three international bestsellers didn’t seem to impress him. (STOP TEXTING your friends and pay attention to me!) And, of course, I followed up with another phone call after I was sure the book had arrived. I could not get past “go,” but was assured that President Clinton received the book. Of course he did . . . NOT! It’s probably going to turn up on Ebay. Believe me, I know the drill. That’s why I am loathe to send out The Cure for Jet Lag review copies.
